PRE-CAUTION Message to declare the correct weight
This is for your information and necessary action that it is being observed with grave concern that a number of shipping agents/freight forwarders are mis-declaring containers weights which is helping the unscrupulous importers to evade government revenue. Although sometimes it is argued that the shipper is responsible for declaring the correct weights for FCL containers, but no containers should be loaded on vessels without recording the proper weights.
Under the circumstances, all shipping agents and freight forwarders are requested to declare the correct weights of the laden containers while submitting the manifest into ASYCUDA system. Stern punitive measures, including immediate suspension of User ID of ASYCUDA, will be taken against delinquent Shipping Agents/Freight Forwarders alongside the importers and C&F Agents as applicable.
All concerned are requested to act accordingly.
